My first exposure to oils was via the everyday oils Premium Starter Kit (PSK) from Young Living. I bought this kit based on the good advice of a trusted friend, but for awhile I had NO CLUE how to use them. No clue at all……but now, I know that this kit includes oils that are good everyday use!!
There are unlimited ways to use these little goodies and this well-rounded starter kit has oils for well……just about everything!!

Remove Toxins and Save Money with oils
The coolest thing about getting this kit is that I found I save more $$$$ because I can use these oils to replace my everyday products. I have learned how to easily make my own toxin free lotion, soap, and ointments. Plus, I am no longer reaching into my medicine cabinet for simple common concerns. I am doing my best to “think oils first” and day by day remove nasty toxic chemicals from my home!
Did you know that when you get a starter kit from Young Living you automatically become a wholesale member?? This gives you 24 % off retail pricing!! and….no monthly fees or annual fees. YAY!
Pretty cool, huh!?!
The premium starter kit includes 11 essential oils. 5 oil singles and 6 oil blends. Of these oils, 7 are available as vitality dietary oils.
Vitality oils are designed to be used as dietary oral supplements and can be added to food/drinks for flavoring or their therapeutic benefits. Some users put a drop or two mixed with olive oil in an empty capsule to take for wellness benefits.

Now…let’s get to the oils!!
11 Everyday Essential Oils
R.C.™ Essential Oil is a powerful blend of Spruce, Cypress, and three types of Eucalyptus oils (E. globulus, E. radiata, and E. citriodora). This eucalyptus blend is wonderful to help support the respiratory system.
Blending this oil with solid coconut oil makes an excellent rub for my chest and neck. I also diffuse RC or put a few drops in a nasal inhaler to open my lungs and perk myself up when a little under the weather. Here are simple steps to make your own nasal aromatherapy inhaler easily!
This is a great oil single to blend with other essential oils as it is thought to magnify the therapeutic effects the oils it is blended with. It has incredible anti-inflammatory benefits and is super helpful for body discomfort.
I like to mix it with a carrier oil (sweet almond, olive, grapeseed, coconut oil), for joint support or put a few drops in a cup Epsom salts for a bath soak. It’s simply lovely! The Epsom salt bath is one of my favorite uses!
This oil is Young Living blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli essential oils. I use this gem for tummy upset, bloating, or motion sickness. I put a few drops on my abdomen after I dilute with a carrier oil. Since it’s a vitality oil, I like to simply place one drop under my tongue for GI upset and to help with digestion. It works like magic for me, but it’s not magic….it’s natures remedy!
This oil cleanses the skin, reduces wrinkles, acts as an antiseptic, and can function as a diuretic. It can also be used as a flavoring in food/water. Plus, it’s an incredible detoxifier. For me, I find this fragrance invigorating and clean.
I like to place a drop in my glass water bottle, use in dinner recipes, or simply diffuse for a clean fresh smell. I also use it to rub off sticky labels from bottles, remove stains from my clothes, and clean smelly items. Plus, it great to help get gum out of hair!!
This is a great oil for anti-aging skin care, detoxification, healing, and centering. Baby Jesus was given this oil by the Magi shortly after his birth – so, you know it HAS to be good!! This oil is very uplifting and spiritually focusing for me.
I use this oil daily on my face every day as part of an anti-wrinkle face serum. To make the face serum, I use the techniques found in Essential Oil Roller Blends in 3 Easy Steps. Another way to use Frankincense oil in your beauty regimen is to make facial cleansing wipes to remove your makeup at night.
This oils blend has Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, and Peppermint oils which offer amazing support for your musculoskeletal system. I like to call this oil, my pain away!
It is great in the bathtub with Epsom salts and copaiba oil. I also will mix this oil with coconut oil to rub on my knees or other joints when they ache. I LOVE this oil blend to reduce inflammation and help with discomfort.
Please note: It has wintergreen oil in it, which has a natural salicylate compound that can be blood thinning if taken orally in large quantities, like Aspirin. That is why it has a childproof cap. Plus…it smells like gum and is tempting for children to try and drink. I do not use this oil orally as it is not a part of the Vitality Oil line.
This oil is just lovely!! It awakens my mind and body, clears my sinuses, cools my skin, calms my stomach, and helps me to focus. I use this with a carrier on my skin, in the diffuser, and orally. I also like to have it in a nasal inhaler to sniff while I’m out and about! You can easily make your own nasal aromatherapy inhaler.
Thieves oil blend is a yummy combination of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils for an aromatic blend that is full of a rich, spicy aroma. The smell of this oil blend makes me think of the holidays…. So warm and inviting!
I use this oil in the diffuser to clean the air and remove germs as this oil blend is known to have some serious cootie killing properties Diluting this oil with coconut or almond oil will allow you to apply topically and boost immunity.
This oil is a magnificent deodorizer and seems to easily neutralize odors. I use this oil blend to clean and purify just about everything in my home and on my body! I use this on my skin for pimples, but mostly I diffuse this oil. With 2 teenagers, 2 cats, and a dog in my home, I need the extra odor neutralization this oil brings. I also will add this oil to spray bottles with a little witch hazel and distilled water to use as a room/body spray. This oil is well known as the swiss army knife of oils. Good for just about anything. I use this to help soothe me to sleep at night. I mix it with cedarwood oil and coconut oil to rub on my feet, hands, and face every night. Works like a charm. I use this on bug bites also to help with itching and on summer skin to cool any discomfort from too long in the sun. This oil is also great in a diffuser for relaxing. It is also great when added to mascara for its hair strengthening and growth support. Read more about this in “Lips, Lashes, and Essential Oils“
This is a lovely blend of lime, copaiba, cedarwood, vanilla, ocotea, and lavender oils. I love this aroma and keep it in my purse as part of my oily toolbox. I added the roller filament to easily apply at work or use simply to de-stress after a long day. This oil blend smells absolutely wonderful and can be worn as a perfume. Plus, it’s also wonderful to diffuse!! ahhhhhhh……
